EIR is on a mission to enhance societal resilience
EIR has a mission and a vision of how our society will become more resilient. This is the story of how EIR was founded and in what ideas it is rooted.
Our origin story
EIR was founded in February 2025 in Sweden by three master’s students in Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change Adaptation. We found the current approach to managing risks and disasters in Sweden to be compartmentalised when facing complex risks, insufficient in meeting people’s actual needs, and disinterested in addressing root causes of risk and vulnerability. EIR was founded as an effort to create an actual impact on people’s lives and abilities to manage risk. Rather than focusing simply on material preparedness, we utilise a complex set of pathways to resilience, through community bonding and a connectedness with the earth and its resources.
The founders were united by a strong conviction in the possibility of using methods for human nature connection to enhance resilience against disasters. With this conviction, they set out on a mission to impact the future of societal resilience and individual preparedness by turning to youth and youth workers. EIR is here to equip you with the tools and skills that you need to feel agent and confident in taking care of yourself and work together with others to create a resilient society.
Our vision
A human connection to nature is vital for our well-being and our ability to be personally prepared for disaster events. By living in closer connection to nature, we will be able to learn early warning signs of disasters, find edible food sources, and to care for nature – among many other things. Humans and nature live in a cyclical and interdependent bond, a bond that we unfortunately have forgotten about and tried to diminish with modern infrastructure. Here at EIR, we believe that the future lies in regaining a connection with nature in order to better understand how we are dependent on it, so that we can use it to care for ourselves, and take care of it in turn.
We at EIR believe that everyone should have the possibility to learn to sustain themselves with nature as the source. This is the ultimate feeling of freedom and agency. Our vision is a society where youth feel confident and inspired to learn about preparedness and to apply their skills and mindsets during crises.
Our mission
Our mission is to spread our vision and strategies internationally in order to create a society which is more disaster resilient and connected to nature. We are on a mission to reach youth workers, organisations, and young people across the globe to understand what situations they live in and how they can apply our unique strategies in order to become more resilient. We are here to learn and to teach in a symbiotic relationship with nature and people.
Eutierria International Resilience is dedicated to fostering youth empowerment by enhancing disaster preparedness and nurturing a deep bond between people and nature through engaging, hands-on workshops. Today, we are active in different projects across Sweden and Europe, aimed at developing a culture of preparedness rooted in collaboration and empowerment.
